Closest Airport is Eugene, OR, http://www.ci.eugene.or.us/Airport/

If you fly into Portland, you can catch a Greyhound bus to Eugene. http://www.greyhound.com/ Bus departs Portland EIGHT times a day to arrive in Eugene 2.5 to 3.5 hours later, depending on scheduled stops.

BY CAR
Two+ hours drive south of the Portland OR airport, and 8+ hours drive from Sacramento, CA airport. From San Francisco, CA is a ~12 hour drive.

If you plan to drive UP the 101 coastal route to Eugene, be aware it is slow goiing through all the little towns-- mostly 35 mph, and lots of stop signs in each town all the way from Eureka, CA. to Hwy 126 which cuts across to Eugene. The MOST direct from from California is Interstate 5, or take the 101 to Crescent City, go to Hwy 199, and into Interstate 5 at Cave Junction, Oregon.

Driving Directions:
Best access to Lorane is from Interstate 5. From the South - there are 3 exits to Lorane. From the North take the #174 Cottage Grove or #163 exit.

Exit #163 Curtain, OR is 10 miles from Lorane, and has a campgrounds right at the exit. Tenting is $13. , RVs are $16 per night, with a $2.00 fee for showers. The site has tables, BBQ units and ponds, and is attractive, with geese strolling the grounds. No reservations needed.

A small tidy motel is also there rates are $35 per night 1 person/1 bed. A gas station and snack shop are next to the campsite, but no food/restaraunts nearby.

Exit #174 is the Cottage Grove exit. Cottage Grove is a small town with one main street with several motels including a Holiday Inn Express, right at the exit, and several other motels, restaurants and small shops. A natural/organic restaurant Cafe' Sheleigh is on main street. The least expensive motel is Relax Inn, on main st, at $28 a night one person, $42 for 2 people/2 beds. Exit #195 B is Eugene, and Nolan's exit, and to the main part of Eugene. Lorane is approximately 16 miles from West. 11th St. and has all the fast food, health food, large stores, grocery, motels, etc. as any big city.

Take # 195 B ( also called Beltline) about 7 miles to the end. At the "T" junction into West 11th. Go LEFT for 1/2 mile to Bertleson/ Bailey Hill road. ( Turn RIGHT- there is a 7-11 store at this corner), stay on Bertleson for 16+ miles as it turns into Old Lorane Hwy.

The Lorane Dome site is a rural country spot, off Old Lorane Hwy, an easy drive from Interstate 5. (Check back for a detailed map!) There is a small gas station and deli in Lorane, a tiny post office, and that's it!
